Based in San Francisco, Nextcard Inc. sought to revolutionize credit cards by offering nearly instant approval online.

It filed for Chapter 11 in December 2002.

The bankruptcy reorganization was converted to a Chapter 7 forced liquidation by a Delaware judge in August 2003.

Alfred Giuliano was the interim trustee.

Payments to creditors was anticipated at $2.9 million to $18.4 million which were far less than the $464 million in claims outstanding.
