Hospital Partners of America, Inc. et al. (HPA)
Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, Hospital Partners of America was the indirect owner and operating entity for several hospitals. In particular, Hospital Partners owned a majority-ownership interest in three physician owned hospitals located in Texas:
- Trinity Medical Center: An Acute care leased facility with 237 beds located in North Texas
- Surgical Hospital of Austin: A specialized regional facility
- St. Joseph Medical Center(SJMC): 1.3 million square foot hospital located in Houston, TX, with approximately 2000 employees.
Hospital Partners of America, Inc. filed under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code, which converted to Chapter 7 on November 21, 2008.
All significant assets have been liquidated with the exception of the final distribution from SJMC, estimated to be $15,795,000
